Invitation Only · Nevada's Ultimate Expedition
HIGHSCALERS™
From Nevada's lowest point to one of its highest summits — in one continuous effort.
More than an
endurance event.
High Scalers™ is a journey of resilience, courage, and personal growth. Participants paddle, cycle, and climb from Nevada's lowest point to one of its highest summits — proving that extraordinary achievements begin with consistent daily habits.
The challenge is not about speed. It is about discovering what you're capable of.
The Name
The High Scalers of Hoover Dam
Stage 1 Launch Point
Black Canyon · Colorado River
During the construction of Hoover Dam in the 1930s, crews of workers were lowered down the canyon walls on ropes — hundreds of feet above the Colorado River. Their job was to remove loose rock and prepare the canyon walls for one of the greatest engineering projects in American history.
They were not famous athletes. They were ordinary people willing to do extraordinary things. They trusted the rope. They trusted their crew. And they stepped where most people would never dare go.
Their spirit inspired the creation of High Scalers™.
The Founder's Story
Born from a 50th Birthday
and a question worth asking.
As his 50th birthday approached, founder Reinier Geyser began searching for an adventure worthy of the milestone. Not a party. Not a gift. An expedition. A challenge that reflected the lessons of a lifetime spent pursuing growth, endurance, curiosity, and adventure.
“Adventure does not have an expiration date. Some of life's greatest experiences still wait beyond our comfort zones.”

The Heart of the Event
The Five Traditions
01
Courage to Begin
Touch the Rope
Before entering the Colorado River, every participant places a hand on the High Scaler Rope — a reminder that every meaningful journey begins with a decision to start.
02
Courage to Choose
The Jump of Courage
Along the river route is an optional jump into the Colorado River. No reward. No penalty. No recognition. The challenge is not the jump — it is making a choice.
03
Courage to Continue
The Founder's Salute
At approximately Mile 30 of the Desert Crossing, participants stop, face Hoover Dam, tip their helmet, and recite: Stay Humble. Live Curiously. Always Be Strong.
04
Courage to Endure
The Summit Message
At registration, each participant receives a sealed envelope. It remains unopened throughout the river and desert stages. Only upon reaching the summit may it be opened.
05
Courage to Inspire
The Pay-It-Forward Coin
Every finisher receives a Pay-It-Forward Coin — not simply an award, but a responsibility. The holder may nominate someone worthy of a future invitation. The rope is passed.
The High Scaler Creed
Stay Humble.
Live Curiously.
Always Be Strong.
